Postural Assessment

A fun day for a complex subject. You will never look at another person in the same way again. It is all about differences, what we see and what does it mean, how does it influence the way we work. Start your path on a more effective approach for change.

In this workshop we discuss the theories and physiology behind postural deterioration.  From  this understanding we can relate the changes in movement purity to the muscle chains that provide stability whilst producing force.  Using our key movement pattern assessments we can identify and understand how the body compensates for the weakness that inevitably leads to dysfunction and postural changes.  These key assessments can then form the foundation of a corrective strategy and effective postural exercise prescription.

This workshop is a must for all industry professionals that are interested in treating postural deterioration.  Providing a structured, simplistic and effective approach to postural correction.

About The Tutor

This is a dynamic class that is taught by either Chris Newton, Kirstie Cousins or Susan Findlay. All are highly regarded practitioners as well as senior lecturers at NLSSM.

Everyone at NLSSM is trained to level 5 BTEC and, with successful careers in sport and remedial massage, our teachers are highly skilled and qualified in all of the associated soft tissue techniques.
We are also trained in the art of teaching and bring to class our different experiences from a variety of supporting skills in osteopathy, physiotherapy, sports therapy, nutrition, and as personal trainers. Our teachers are an important part of a support system that offers ongoing mentoring to both our students and graduates.

We take part in regular in-house teacher training days to make sure that we’re always delivering the highest level of tuition that’s tailored if necessary and relevant to the needs of each class. Passionate about what we do, we keep up with current research and skill sets and use a mixture of teaching methods, from old hands-on skills to the very latest technology
