Trigger Points Revisited:From Modern Science to Clinical Practice

    Tuesday 11th August 2026 @ 7 p.m.

    Presenter: Simeon Niel-Asher

Synopsis:  Trigger points remain one of the most commonly encountered - and often misunderstood - causes of musculoskeletal pain. In this practical workshop, Simeon Niel-Asher will explore our current understanding of trigger point physiology and pathophysiology, including recent developments in pain science and how trigger points fit within a modern biopsychosocial model of pain.

Using the TriggerPoints3D app throughout the presentation, Simeon will demonstrate how trigger point assessment and treatment can be integrated into everyday clinical practice through three common clinical presentations:

    • Tennis Elbow (Lateral Elbow Pain)
    • Sciatica
    • Pronator Teres Syndrome

Attendees will be encouraged to palpate and locate key trigger points on themselves during the session, providing an engaging and interactive learning experience that they can immediately apply in the clinic.

Biography: Simeon Niel-Asher BPhil, BSc (Ost), is an osteopath, author, educator and international lecturer with more than 30 years of clinical experience in musculoskeletal medicine. He is widely recognised for his work on trigger point therapy and is the creator of the The Niel-Asher Technique (TNAT). Simeon has authored numerous books on trigger points and rehabilitation, including, The 3D atlas of trigger points (Handspring), The Concise Book of Trigger Points and the recently released TriggerPoints3D app, an interactive digital learning platform featuring three-dimensional anatomy, clinical examination and treatment techniques. He continues to teach healthcare professionals internationally while maintaining clinical practice at Back Into Shape Clinic in the Middle East.
