First Aid Course

This Emergency First Aid at Work course follows the HSE guidelines and has been tailored to meet the needs of the sports massage practitioner. It is the minimum required for professional membership of the Sports Massage Association and the Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage. On successful completion of this one‑day course the student will receive a Certificate of Attendance issued through MG Training.

Course content:

• Aims and legal responsibilities
  
• First Aid planning and your First Aid kit
  
• Assessment of the unconscious or non-breathing casualty
  
• CPR and the treatment of head and spinal injuries
  
• Immediate management of:
  
• • Seizures
  • Bleeding and shock
  • Fainting

The course will be mainly practical so that students get first-hand experience of dealing with simulated injuries in a safe environment.
