  • Peisey-Vallandry, French Alps

Over the years we have been listening to our clients, partners and therapists about what makes an exceptional massage. We have created a course designed to provide therapists with an array of the most effective techniques, with the aim of increasing the quality of treatments being provided.

We love the mountains and our course provides you with the ability to combine 5 days of immersive tuition with a breath-taking Alpine holiday. The school accommodation is available for you to use from 6th to 14th July at no extra cost! So you can explore the fabulous surroundings.

It’s all about you

Our experienced tutor, Ruth, can tailor the teaching to you and your existing skills. So whether you are newly qualified or have been practicing for years, you will find the course rewarding. Spending a week with like-minded people means you will have plenty of opportunity to practice in a supportive environment and get your questions answered.

Each day will focus on a different topic, with continuous reference throughout the week on Key Focus Points to reinforce your learning and build confidence. See our Daily Detail for full information.

Topics we will cover include :

  • Advanced deep tissue and hands free massage
  • Advanced techniques for Hips & Legs and Shoulder & Upper Body
  • Trigger point therapy, Neuromuscular techniques (NMTs), Muscle energy techniques (METs)
  • Postural assessment
  • Positional release
  • Mobilisation & Stretching
  • Table top Thai massage
  • Side-lying techniques
  • Pre and post natal
  • Acupressure
  • Advanced techniques for the hands, feet, face and scalp

WELCOME DRINKS: On Sunday 7th July we have organised Welcome Drinks so we can all mingle and get to know one another on the night before the course starts.

YOGA: Two mornings a week we have Bec Black, a local yogi, coming to the chalet to provide complimentary yoga sessions for you all with a focus on managing your posture as a therapist. If yoga is not your “thing” this is an opportunity to maybe try something new and take away some handy tips to stretch typical areas of tighness.

STUDENT CLINIC: One evening of the week we will be arranging a student clinic with members of the public. This is a great opportunity to practice your new techniques whilst still being supervised and mentored by Ruth, our tutor. She will be able to give you direct feedback in a stress-free environment. To know more about our student clinic, check out our dedicated clinic page.

FOOD: Dinner will be provided on the Sunday evening before the course and on 4 other evenings, leaving you one evening of the week to try out one of the many restaurants in resort. Breakfast will be provided every morning, including on the final departure day.

LOCAL WINE & CHEESE TASTING: One evening of the week we will be working with a local sommelier to give you all a real taste of some of the wine and cheese from this world renowned area.

BBQ: On our last evening together, we'll finish up with a BBQ on the chalet terrace as the sun sets over the stunning Tarentaise valley.
